Proton DREAMS members meet in Bulgaria

Photo_Bulgaria

As part of the 13th Chemistry Conference (October 23-24) celebrated at Park Hotel Sankt Peterburg in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, members of the Proton DREAMS Project met and had very interesting discussions, lead by Prof. Dr. Liudmil Antonov (BG), who shared his group's computational findings. Dr. Estefanía Sucre-Rosales (CH) shared the first results in the photodynamics of the photoswitches, while Mr. Bogdan-Constantin Enache and Mr. George Costache (RO) brought news regarding the synthesis of new compounds. Stay tuned for more updates soon!

Bogdan and George participate in the 13th Chemistry Conference in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

Mr. Bogdan-Constantin Enache gave a lecture entitled "A new class of visible-light-addressable arylazo-1,3,4-thiadiazole molecular photoswitches”, and Mr. George Costache contributed with the talk  “Multistate molecular photoswitches containing arylazopyrazole and N-acylhydrazone units”. Both showed very interesting results regarding the synthesis and performance of new photoswitches, within the framework of the Proton-DREAMS Project. Check out the program here.

Estefanía attends the Workshop "Computational Modelling of Tautomerism: From Ground to Excited States"

Estefanía attended the One-day Introductory School on Computational Modelling of Tautomerism: From Ground to Excited States held at the University of Plovdiv “Paisii Hilendarski” in Bulgaria on October, 22 (2026). This workshop combined interactive lectures with hands-on computational exercises, providing a practical introduction to the fundamentals of tautomerism, ground and excited intramolecular proton transfer and their modern applications in light-driven molecular machines.

Eveline joins as a Master Student

Eveline Stutz will be doing research on the Proton DREAMS Project as her Master Thesis Project. Welcome, Eveline!

Estefanía joins Proton DREAMS as a post-doctoral researcher

Estefanía Sucre Rosales obtained her Ph.D. in Chemistry on ultrafast molecular dynamics to study photoinduced electron transfer from the University of Geneva under the supervision of Prof. Eric Vauthey. Estefanía will work on the Proton DREAMS Project. Welcome, Estefanía!
